Named For

Our tote bag is named after Wangari Maathai, Kenyan social, environmental, and political activist as well as being the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize. She is globally recognized for her persistent struggle for democracy, human rights, and environmental conservation. She changed the world in many ways, one of which was by starting the Green Belt Movement in 1977 which has succeeded to plant over 51 million trees in Kenya to combat deforestation. Maathai’s activism started from the belief that there is an underlying link between environmental issues and sexism. Her accomplishments are an inspiration to all, proving that it is possible to be an agent of change no matter what political or personal obstacles you may face.

Returns

All return/exchange requests must be made within 45 days of receiving your order. Please email contact@bedistudios.com so we may assist you with the return process. Include your order number, the name of the item you wish to return and the reason for your return.

We will send instructions along with our warehouse address either in Canada or the U.S.A., depending on customer location. Return shipping is at the expense of the customer.

Once we receive the returned item(s), we will then process refunds/exchanges accordingly. We reserve the right to refuse refunds/exchanges if the item is damaged or soiled.

Wipe down with a mildly damped cloth or wipe. For stubborn stains, we recommend spot cleaning with a gentle cleaner (preferably biodegradable) and warm water. Always test cleaners first in an inconspicuous location such as a corner at the back of the bag.

Tip: Use upcycled wiping cloths, cut from old sheets and towels.
