F.A.Q.s

Your most common questions, answered. If you don't see your question below, email us anytime at contact@bedistudios.com — we're here to help!

It doesn't get as cold as -30°C here — will this be too warm for me?

Not at all. While our coats can handle extreme cold (down to -30°C), they’re designed to be versatile enough for everyday wear. Most people comfortably wear them from around +10°C to deep winter temps—making them a solid three-season option.

What makes that possible? A few things:

Lightweight synthetic insulation (not down), which means no puffball bulk and no overheating indoors or on mild days.

A windproof ballistic nylon shell, so wind doesn't cut through—this lets us use less insulation overall, while still keeping you warm when you need it.

Thoughtful design that traps warmth without trapping sweat.

Is it waterproof?

Our winter coats are highly water-resistant and windproof, perfect for snow, wet snow, and drizzly days.

It is technically "water-resistant", not "waterproof" because the seams aren’t sealed. However, the exterior is made from ballistic nylon—a super tightly woven, abrasion-resistant fabric that repels water well. There’s also a thin water-resistant membrane underneath for extra protection.

Water will bead off at first, and even in steady rain it holds up impressively. Because the seams aren’t sealed, in a long, steady downpour, some moisture can eventually work its way in (we’re talking hours, not minutes).

Unlike down, the synthetic insulation stays warm even when wet and doesn’t get heavy or soggy. And there’s no chemical waterproof coating—just smart, durable materials doing the work.

Do you offer a warranty?

We're very proud to offer a Lifetime Guarantee on all our coats and bags. Your coat is covered for life against any manufacturer defects. That means that 20 years from now, if your zipper breaks, or a seam pops, we’ll get it fixed for you.

What’snotcovered under the warranty? We don’t cover accidental damage (say, if you lay it on a hot barbecue or back over it with your car). But accidents happen! If you need a repair, send us an email— we want you to be able to continue enjoying your coat, and we can usually repair it for a small fee.

Can I wash my coat?

Yes! The coat is machine washable. We just recommend air drying—it takes about a day. Please skip the dryer (it doesn’t like the heat).

I'm based in the USA. Will I have to pay Tariffs?

Nope, no tariffs! Although the most recent tariffs did affect some Canadian outerwear, winter coats that are not made with down are currently exempt.*

Some of our products, such as cotton knit sweaters, were affected by tariffs, and we have blocked these from our US site so they can't be purchased and accidentally incur tariffs.
