Toronto: Our Second Home

We have had an incredibly busy couple of weeks! immediately after wrapping up our creative campaign two weeks ago, we started driving back and forth from Toronto for all kinds of events and markets. We met so many amazing people and had the opportunity to reconnect with some old friends. Here's a little recap:

Vegandale

Two weeks ago we drove out to attend Toronto Vegandale. If you aren’t familiar with the event, it is a one day festival to celebrate all things vegan - from food, to fashion, to lifestyle. Despite the intense heatwave, Toronto folk came from far and wide to check out all of the impressive vendors, and we got to meet a lot of incredible people. It was not the first time we’ve attended, nor will it be the last. We are scheduled to attend Vegandale in New York City in September, so maybe we will see you there.

Friday Harbour Fashion Collective

Only 5 days after coming home to Montreal, we drove back out to Innisfil, Ontario to attend the Friday Harbour Fashion Collective, an annual event put on by the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (also known as CAFA). Just far enough north to get out of the GTA and on the shore of Lake Simcoe, we were able to meet even more of you with the added bonus of enjoying the beautiful scenery that the resort has to offer.

Meetings with Myles

Over the last few years, Inder and Myles have developed a lovely friendship. They got to meet up at the Fashion Collective to discuss everything from the problems around ocean waste, fishnets, and ideas around creating the most iconic creative content imaginable to draw attention to these issues (stay tuned!). It is incredibly special to connect with other entrepreneurs and creators who hold similar values and interests so close to their hearts. Myles is an example of this. He is as authentic in person as he comes across on social media, and we are incredibly lucky and grateful to have him in our community.

Holt Renfrew

After our weekend by the water, we drove back into the city for some very exciting meetings. We met with the team at Holt Renfrew’s H Project, which we are incredibly excited to announce we will be partnering with come September. The H Project is space in Holt Renfrew Stores dedicated to a conscious curation of products that are beautifully designed, passionately purposeful, and have unique stories behind them, making it easier for customers to make responsible purchases. We are honoured to have the opportunity to take part in such a forward thinking initiative.

Talk Shop Media

The next day, we attended a PR event at Talk Shop Media, a public relations agency of which we have admired from afar for a very long time. We were invited to attend their holiday preview (shivers at the thought of the holidays being “around the corner”) where we displayed our favourite products and mingled with many familiar faces. A big thanks to Talk Shop Media for the invitation to such a lovely event.

Inder also had the opportunity to reconnect with longtime friend Elsa Reia and visit her new retail space. We're looking forward to seeing more of each other and working together in the future.

Visit Zane

Finally, Inder got to spend quite a bit of quality time with old friend and colleague Zane Aburaneh from Visit Zane on Queen St West. Zane has been supporting BEDI since the beginning. After spending some time catching up, they got to work on our new art installation, “Art From Trash”, and setting up the display of our most recent collection, now available at Visit Zane in stores and online at https://visitzane.com/.

It is safe to say that Toronto is beginning to feel like our second home. As we establish our new headquarters here in Montreal and prepare for the opening of our flagship store this week (STAY TUNED!!!), we're excited about our next trip down the 401... see you at the CAFA Awards! 🤞
