I’m really happy with my new YVON coat. It has the right balance of function and style for me. I was pleasantly surprised by how durable the material is considering I ordered it online and had no idea from the photos. It feels almost indestructible but looks so chic. I actually found BEDI after seeing someone wearing one of their raincoats on the Toronto subway, which led me to their website and their philosophy around craftsmanship and quality. I liked how understated it all felt. I liked their focus on doing things well without being in your face about it. The hood took some getting used to since it’s quite protruding when it’s up, but I’ve come to appreciate the coverage it gives. I’d 100% buy another BEDI coat.

I genuinely love this parka. I wore the Bedi slat parka through a recent 60 cm snowstorm and the extended cold snap that has followed, and its performance has been consistently excellent. With only a T-shirt underneath, I was comfortable to −20 °C; with a sweater added, I am confident that the coat will meets its stated −30 °C rating and perhaps function well even beyond. The insulation-to-bulk ratio is exceptionally well judged and counterintuitive at first glance. Your brain doesn't recognize that a coat at this thickness can provide the stated level of warmth.

The Econyl fabric offers a clean, modern aesthetic while still feeling durable and purposeful. It provides the type of unique look that I was hoping for (I ordered online). Details are handled with restraint: the seatbelt strap is subtle, and the angular hem at the cuffs is particularly well considered, providing added protection on the outer side of the wrist without compromising mobility or usability on the inside.

The tall collar stands out for its effectiveness. It cuts wind and offers meaningful coverage, providing a reasonable compromise when worn without a hat, a detail that is often overlooked and rarely executed this well.

I'd be remiss if I didn't also call out the amazing customer service. What started as an initial inquiry regarding sizing evolved into a month's long e-mail exchange with comments flowing both ways.

Overall this is a carefully designed, bullet-proof coat built IN CANADA for CANADIAN WINTERS.

I look forward to considering Bedi again for future purchases.

I bought this jacket at the start of last year (due to "Elbows Up"!) and did not have a chance to use it until this winter. It is a very well-made jacket and keeps me warm even in below 20C weather. I chose this one because of its length; I have two Canada Goose coats, and this Bedi Ansel jacket is at par with those in terms of performance. I like that I can wash this jacket at home and not have to send it to the dry cleaners. I also love that this is made in Canada!

If you are on the fence on whether to buy this coat. THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO BUY IT. Buy it. Immediately. The minute it came out of the box, the feel in hand was premium luxury. The cut and styling of the coat is refined and elegant - not bulky and ugly. I walked around in the coat in -20 degree Toronto weather, I was cozy and warm. Everything about this jacket was designed for cold weather functionality - pockets are secure and spacious, the zipper is tough but glides easily. That hood is next level cozy without being suffocating. I cannot stress the care and design that went into the coat with intention. The coat is simply brilliant. I will want to highlight, that supporting a Canadian business with ethical and ecologically sound business practices is more important than ever. I bought this jacket sight un-seen and I could not be more thrilled with the quality/value/design of the jacket. The major brands : Canada Goose, Nobis, Arc'Teryx... cannot compare to this fabulous brand.

I really love this jacket. It looks amazing on - fits well - and is very warm. Durable outer fabric repels water and looks great. Great design and and value. One of the best winter jackets I've ever purchased.

I never write reviews but I am loving my Orsola coat. It's so warm, so sleek. I'm thrilled to have it and have gotten so many compliments. It's the warmest coat I've ever owned - I enjoy going out even on windy days in the winter.

I normally like to have more room in my coats for layering, but took a chance and ordered Small. While it is fitted, there is room to wear a sweater or a lightweight warmup jacket underneath.
I live in Manitoba, in the Canadian prairie, where the north wind can gust strongly and produce windchills below -30c. This jacket keeps me warm as I do not feel the cold at all! It is windproof and the hood is outstanding and stylish. I can wear this coat in the car without sweating and then go out and stay warm. I do not regret this investment and am very pleased with it - I have received positive compliments several times. I am 5’1 and the coat is perfectly knee-length. This is likely the last coat I will ever need to buy - other than replacing it with a BEDI upgrade down the road if something catches my eye!! Thank you so much for producing a perfect coat for our Canadian winters.

The YVON jacket has been the absolute best winter jacket I've ever purchased. The jacket all together feels dense and premium in hand. Very warm despite the compact design which makes getting in and out of the car, or really any kind of movement, much less of a struggle. I was walking around in -15c weather without issue, and it's rated down to -30c. I'm about 6ft tall and this was the perfect length for me in large. It is great as a car commuter jacket as advertised, and comes down just below waist level for me.

The materials used are on another level. I wondered if the use of completely recycled plastics would lead to an overly synthetic feel, but I'm glad to say it doesn't at all! All the touch points (e.g. the inner lining of the jacket and the inner lining of the pockets) are super soft. The inner lining of the pockets in particular feels like a very dense, soft velour. I love the placement as well - a bit higher on the torso which makes it great for keeping your hands in your pockets while walking for additional warmth. The zippers all feel robust in hand and glide smoothly.

The hood design is also something to highlight. When the jacket is fully zipped up, the hood comes around your head like a cone. The zipper doesn't end up in front of your face and mouth so you don't get all that moisture build up you'd get on a regular jacket. The sort of scooped design of the hood gives you warmth and coverage from the elements without being suffocating. This is the first jacket I've had like this and I don't think I'll be able to go back to regular hoods!

Clearly every part of this jacket was designed with thought and care of the end user experience. I find I seldom see such human centred design these days and was very happy with every little detail I came across with my jacket.

When you consider that this is Canadian made, backed with a lifetime warranty and run by someone who clearly believes in environmentally conscious business practices (it's the whole ethos of the company!), the price is genuinely exceptional.

There's no brand tax or any other mark up on this, you really are getting an incredible jacket at an incredible price at full retail. This easily matches the build quality of high end brands like Mackage and Canada Goose while beating them out in thoughtful design and value per dollar.
